For the past 10 years Ibtisam has been creating documentary cinema that advances women and speaks to the relationships of women within Palestinian-Arab society in Israel. Among her award winning films are Lady Kul el Arab, following the first Druze woman to participate in the Miss Israel Beauty pageant; Three Times Divorced, bringing the story of a Gazan women who married an Israeli Arab and fights for custody on her children after he divorces her in absentia.

Ibtisam's most recent film is 77 Steps, is a personal documentary revealing the turbulence encountered when she falls in love with a Canadian Jewish man who immigrated to Israel.
